Windows AntiSpyware  Microsoft have released their Beta version of AntiSpyware which as the name suggests, prevents spyware. It is free to all registered Windows users.
However, what is Spyware?
Spyware is software that is often received from the internet, they can
- Bombard you with Adverts.
- Alter certain settings on your machine.
- Collect personal information about you.
- Slow down or even crash your machine.
- Perform activities on your computer without properly obtaining your consent.
There are ways to minimise the threat of Spyware:
- Only close windows using the red box, such as the one top right of this window.
- Always read the privacy messages before you select the "agree," tab.
- You should only download from web sites you trust.
- Use additional software to monitor Spyware action. (Such as Windows AntiSpyware.)
